Description

With the same robust connectivity options and powerful, articulate driver combo, the Eris E7 XT studio monitor is a nuanced update to a lauded classic. The 1.25-inch silk-dome tweeter now sports a Hugh Sarvis- designed EBM waveguide, delivering a wider and more controlled sweet spot ideal for group listening and collaboration. A larger, ported enclosure extends the bass response of the 6.5-inch woven composite low-frequency driver without adding any mud. And of course, the acoustic tuning controls let you flatten the frequency response in accordance with your mix environment. It’s Eris, remastered. From the Manufacturer The Eris E7 XT drives up to 104 dB of crystal-clear, transparent sound via a 6.5-inch woven composite low-frequency driver and a 1.25-inch silk-dome tweeter. The ported enclosure creates a deep, tight low-end, while the new EBM waveguide ensures a wider and more controlled sweet spot ideal for group listening and collaboration—while the narrow vertical dispersion reduces reflections from your desk. Versatile I/O and acoustic tuning features allow you to connect to virtually anything, nearly anywhere.

  • Nice bass and wide "sweet spot"
Size: 7" Near Field Studio Monitor Pattern: Monitor
I bought these and Kali's LP-6 monitors at the same time to try them both out and ended up keeping these. The E7 XTs were easier to use in my untreated office/studio (standard bedroom) due to a wider listening zone thanks to the waveguides (although the LP-6 also adjusted pretty well to the room too, but hadf a much narrower sweet spot). There's more control over EQ adjustments with the E7 XT than many monitors in this price range, which is great for tailoring acoustics to your space. The main reason I went with these is that the bass is much better on the E7 XTs, as it extends a little lower and is more assertive than the LP-6 (but still quite realistic). Overall, the imaging is solid: you can definitely tell where things are located in the mix and they reveal fine details well. I do have to mention that imaging is a little sharper/more clear on the LP-6, but theres less EQ control and the bass is noticeably weaker on the same tracks. If you're in it only for the imaging (not overall sound reproduction) and you have a separate subwoofer, the LP-6 might be for you. Since I'm not using a subwoofer (yet), I went with these, so I can mix low end more easily. I do plan on getting one of the PreSonus subwoofers in the next few months. I get the feeling after playing with these speakers that they would work really well with a sub, because they sound amazing when you engage the low bypass to 80hz. TLDR: +Great, assertive, and realistic bass for a 6.5 inch speaker +Good imaging and details +Easy to tailor to your space -A little bulky (check your measurements) ... show more

  • Amazing sound
Size: 7" Near Field Studio Monitor Pattern: Monitor
I love these E7XT speaker monitors. I originally bought the E5XTs and one speaker was giving off a hiss and static when nothing was playing. So I returned them and got these for an unbeatable price and my goodness I’m glad I did. I don’t like to return things unless they are broken. Especially audio equipment that I need to sound good. These speakers give my guitar a greater sound with deeper lows and much wider sound stage than the E5s. Definitely recommend. The EQ settings on these bad boys are very good and help with getting your desired sound. I’d recommend turning down the gain as 12 o clock is too hot if you’re using a lot of distortion for guitars. Just my opinion. The size is actually perfect for me. Plus they’re cheaper than buying from other retailers, thanks Amazon! I’ll update if anything changes but right now I’m happy with them. ... show more

  • Better manufactured driver qualty
Size: 7" Near Field Studio Monitor Pattern: Monitor
I purchased this Eris E7 XT after purchasing two nearly identical Eris E66, but with an extra bass driver. These are comparable to my old Behringer B2031Ps, but with smaller bass driver & amps at nearly the same price range. Made by Fender but based in Louisiana for hardware, Germany for software llke Behringer used to be but no longer are. Much better quality drivers & cabinetry but with class A/B amplifiers instead of Class D as is so common in powered speakers. Better depth & tonal quality but not as solid power wise as my old Behringers. Just added a month later: I ended up purchasing five of this series, the 7s, the 8s with one additional E266. I've read a ton of reviews & I like this series, how they look & especially how they sound in a very complicated surround setup. There is no question, the E8s sound the best of the bunch but the E266s don't sacrifice much using smaller woofers. My 20 year old Truth Behringers play more solid with much fuller range using the 260 watt power pack, these sound finer, more finished but the E7s sound far less powered/bass diminshment compared to my 20 year old & worn original wunders. The fivesome creates an astonishing quality sound field, especially anywhere near their price range using an ancient Pioneer Elite HTR implemented with pre-outs. ... show more

  • Monitor met expectations, power and features.
Size: 7" Near Field Studio Monitor Pattern: Monitor
Amazon gave me the option to double box, arrived in new condition, kudos Amazon. Eris E7XT. I owned a KRK-8 Classic (not New Classic), and the front port slot is reminiscent of that design, but works much better on these E7s. Punch bass, not boxy or boomy, thats half the battle. I thought the cabinet could have been deeper and a bit more heavy, they have a bit of a 'runt' appearance, that's when you realize they are entry level monitor. That said, the sound and controls really give you your bang for buck. You can do a lot worse. These do as well as My older KRK-8s. The wave-guide makes them up to date and at 130 watts Class A/B they dont slump. Definate near-field characteristics with clarity and detail, and if you are careful with the highs and roll-offs, you shouldn't fatigue. One thing I was surprised about is that there was no hum, quiet floor. Overall a great buy, and when you find a deal, even better. What I will say, and they wont like it, is that tweet grills can be removed Shh. If you do, you cant really put them back. Blah blah blah waveform.. I think these are just wire mesh protectors. not science. Recommend these monitors. ... show more

  • Zero Humm or Feedback at Idle!
Size: 7" Near Field Studio Monitor Pattern: Monitor
This seemed to be quite the issue for some purchasers. I can tell you I was extremely curious as to what I was going to get. Lucky for me, I set them up on my PC Desk Top for Multi-Media use, turned them on and listened intently with my ear to the speakers. They are dead quiet friends. Now I am running a pair of these from my PC then to my SMSL Su-9n DAC, then to the E7's. I used high quality shielded XLR cables from my DAC to the Monitors. I used high quality shielded USB Cable from my PC to my DAC. My electricity is filtered for noise and my cable routing is clean with minimal overlaps. Whether that made any difference or not I dont know. I only know what I can hear which is NOTHING. Friends, the sound is very pleasing for me. The first things I noticed were a very distinct upgraded stereo seperation, crystal clear Mids and Highs, and a noticeable spatial feel as if I am in a Concert Hall. The bass which many comment on, like PREGO, its in there. I feel like that Cat who ate the Bird. Cheers. ... show more

  • Incredible value. Great, balanced sound.
Size: 7" Near Field Studio Monitor Pattern: Monitor
You can't beat these for the price. Incredibly balance, clean, clear sound. And this is a great size. Perfect for a studio space, but big enough to give full ,rich sound (I use them with my electronic drum kit). If you're looking for full range monitors under $500, you probably can't do any better than these. ... show more
