I am on my second Panasonic Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer. My first one died after six months. Tried a new AAA battery, nothing. I purchased the product again, thinking I must have done something wrong. Nope. The second device also died. I put a brand new AAA battery in and in the "on-position" there are only VERY VERY weak erratic spurts of the motor and only when the device is held at a 45 to 90 angle, totally insufficient to cut hair with.     • Starts off great, but doesn't last at all

The trimmer was very effective. However, after continued use (once every 2 weeks possibly for 2-3 months) I had run into many instances that the product wouldn't turn on; the battery was not the issue, as I encountered same issue whether it was a new battery or not. I had to open the battery port and rotate the battery without rhyme or reason in the hopes that the product would turn on... sometimes it did, and other times it didn't. In some instances, I noticed upon opening the battery port that there was a foul smelling odor coming from inside. It seemed to be leaked battery acid. I don't know how or why this would've happened, but that's the most rational deduction I can make based on the smell and where odor was coming from. My guess is that the battery terminals corroded and did so very quickly. As for the battery acid odor, I can't really think of the cause of this. With the nose trimmer being advertised as waterproof, it doesn't seem to pass that litmus test. I'm stuck with this terrible product that doesn't work because Amazon refers you to Panasonic for being out of your return window. Panasonic is a pain to reach support because it is only available during working hours and when you're at work, it's difficult to contact Panasonic because you're, well, working. Panasonic offers a poor discount to more below average products unless you're willing to fork over some cash to buy something really nice. Overall, I would not recommend this product, as you'll have to replace shortly thereafter. ... show more

    • Total Failure In Product Design and In Quality Control

If there was quality control on this product it would be discovered that the blade get caught up in the tip while attempting to be spun. This is the most common complaint about this item if you view all of the reviews on this specific product. Out of all the years of purchasing on Amazon this is absolutely the worst product I have purchased. It simply does not work for more than day 1 to day 30 according to the reviews. I agree with these good customers of Amazon who have had the same experience that I now have. I will no longer be purchasing products from this vendor. First rotary trimmer I've used that I LOVE. It actually works! This one is a keeper. I just hope it lasts. Update: Dec 2018. My last statement in my previous review of this trimmer was, “I just hope it lasts”. Well, I’m late in posting this update, but for months now this thing has been unreliable. I have to jiggle the battery (have replaced with fresh batteries, thinking this might be the issue-NOT!) just to get the thing to turn on and then it’s a craps shoot for how long it will stay on... And when it does stay on, it’s not at the same original full power as when it was new. Very disappointing. This one is in the trash pile. ... show more

You get about 14 months of infrequent use out of it before it dies. I only use it every couple weeks to a month. While it works it's great but this is the second one I've had and they seem to die around the 12-14th month. At most I'm getting 28+/- uses out of it and I think it's more on the order of 15-20 uses. At $10 it's not a horrible value but there's no reason they can't make it last longer than that. I'm going to try the manual route since the motor seems to be what is failing. ... show more

I bought this item on July 26, 2017 to replace the same item that had stopped working months before. Well, I found out the hard way that it's no fluke because the new nose trimmer died this past week. Panasonic only has a 30 day return policy. I had a Panasonic trimmer from about 15 years ago that went out and bought this just because I assumed it would do the trick. I don't do anything other than trim my nose hair with it. This one takes forever to trim the hair and doesn't do that great of a job. It takes 5 times the effort and time to do the job that my old one took. I thought maybe it was low powered because I put a bad battery in it, but that's not the case either. It's sounds like it's running on a low battery and hardly trims/cuts. I thought I'd give it a few tries before totally bashing this with hopes that I'd feel different about it, but I don't. I tossed the box and might as well toss this in the garbage too. ... show more
