  • Poor quality control, non-existent customer service, functionality issues
Style: Laptop
I purchased this laptop after reading a lot of reviews that both praised Razer and cautioned against buying. In the end, I ordered through Amazon because one of the warnings was that, if there is a problem, Razer can be difficult to work with. The laptop came, and right away I noticed a dead backlight on one of the keys. A $2,500+ laptop, with a dead key back light.... I have also notice that some of the corners and edges are very sharp, including those that outline the front edge of the track pad. The keyboard is awkward to use and I often feel like I am out running it. I upgraded mine to 64Gigs of ram and two 1tb ssd hard drives. That process was simple and easy. The performance seems okay, screen also okay. That is all for now, I haven't used this much yet. I keep thinking that I will contact razer about the manufacturing defects, and they may want the laptop back. I did call and was told that they on l y have 6 people in customer service and any response could take 30 days. Becareful .... ...four months later... It is now December 4, 2020. I've had this laptop, for roughly 3.5 months and I still don't trust it. I keep finding gremlins. Today's issue is in the SD card reader. In that it is not reading the SD card. It is incredibly frustrating. In my search for a reliable, robust laptop, I have been all over the map. Asus, MSI, Dell, HP etc.. I have owned nearly 30 laptops in the last 10 years. Overall laptop quality is plummeting. A sense responsibility to the customer is also gone. Disposable seems to be the name of the game. This Razer has been a frustrating waste of money, time, energy. It has just enough engineering and design quality to make you feel hopeful, but not enough to actually be a reliable, quality product. I enjoy tinkering with Electronics and have been building my own computers since the 1980's. However, when it comes to a work laptop, I would prefer to not have to think about the hardware/function of it. Unfortunately, when it comes to this laptop, I have to say that I just don't trust it to be there for me when I need it. There are better places and ways to spend your money. Avoid Razer, until, they get themselves sorted out. ... show more

  • Well worth the money!
Style: Laptop
I've had this laptop since October 2020 and so far its been great. It runs games smoothly and I haven't had one issue. I did upgrade the ram myself and added a 2nd 1 TB hard drive but that is just how upgradeable this thing is. It can go up to 64 gb of ram but so far it doesn't seem like I need it but a good thing to know for the future. ... show more

The track pad had issues 2 finger scroll didn't work not worth 2400 dollars at all. My 5 year old alien ware works better than this computer.

  • Got it Friday and it died on sunday
Style: Laptop
It made it two days before the display just stopped working. External displays worked. Looked up the issue and standard problem for years with razer laptops. I found posts as far back as 2016 outlining this issue with people actively wondering when the issue would be fixed. It’s been four years and apparently is still standard. Don’t even get me started on the ineptitude that is razer support. They earned their reputation and in this case that’s not a good thing. ... show more

  • I love being a Blade Master!
Style: Laptop
I'm a professional game developer who specializes in creating AR/VR games and apps, so I need a laptop that has power to not only run games, but to MAKE games. This laptop is chef's kiss perfect, and when I have client presentations it's amazing to have a laptop that I can use to run demos rather than clunking around a huge tower PC that's powerful enough to run VR games OR having to waste a client's time by redownloading games from the cloud. It's also very light-weight for being such a work horse, which my last 17in gaming laptop (Lenovo Y-70 touch, do NOT recommend) was not. I would highly recommend to any gaming professionals who want the power of a gaming PC with the portability of a laptop. ... show more

  • Do NOT buy this laptop
Style: Laptop
Say what you will about the specs and what the laptop could or should do... the fact remains that Razer support is abolutely pathetically bad. There's been an issue for FIVE months over the course of 2020 where updates to the Nvidia driver will cause the laptop to black screen unless you roll it back to an older driver version. That version is from JUNE... it is now DECEMBER... Razer has not communicated AT ALL to clients.. their supports forums are littered with complaints about this and other things.. it would seem they're more interested in bringing out energy drinks or plush toys, or gaming chairs vs actually supporting the people who have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on their laptops. It's pathetic. DO NOT BUY A RAZER LAPTOP. Just DO NOT! ... show more
