  • A bit of a story
Color: Mystic White
The product is great, amazing really and I guess that is why my first pair were stolen. I got my Amazon box, opened it and knew something was instantly off because the box containing my buds were open, the tape was cut. And so I opened it and they were gone. But I did the whole process and got a replacement with no problems. If I had known this would happen I would had recorded myself opening my box. ... show more

  • Do the Live up to the Hype?
Color: Mystic White
Let me tell you, I was ready to get on here and give these a 1 star rating, but then I said, "I'm being too hasty, maybe I should try pushing them deeper in my ears" and surely enough, that worked. Initial impressions: Clarity: excellent for music, and when testing a call to a friend he said I "sound crystal clear; clearer than I normally sound". Comfort: I like the feel of these more than the original buds. The rest comfortably in my ears and I don't get that odd feeling that you normally get from traditional ear buds with suction cups. I tested to see if they would fly out by shaking my head back and forth violently and they didn't budge. Battery: they are already rated to have a shorter life than the original buds and buds plus, and with minimal use, they have already dropped to 82% from 100% in less than an hour, but at least the case provides additional charge, plus you can get an hours worth of playtime with a 5 minute charge. Build quality: the quality is excellent. I thought with them being shaped strangely, they would be large and uncomfortable, but I was wrong. They are smaller than the regular buds and so is the case, albeit the case is shaped differently (small square verses pill shaped). The case for these seems a bit more premium than the original case, as well. Noise Cancelation: I can say if it's good or bad, honestly. I usually have audio at full blast and can't hear anyway, and that was still the case with these just like with the regular buds. Of course if nothing is playing, I can hear well, in fact better than with the regular buds due to the lack of suction cups. Pairing: instant! What more do you need to know? I have a Note10 Plus at the time of writing this and upon opening the case, they immediately try to connect to my galaxy device, and from that point onward, they work just like the original buds, pairing immediately when placed in your ear(s). Also, remember that you can use one at a time if you want. I'm sure some other reviewers will elaborate on things that I haven't, but that was my take. If you have the money and want to try them, you'll enjoy them, but if you are hesitant about the $170 price tag, the regular buds or even a cheaper product will do just fine. Refurbished regular buds can be found for as low as $60 and work as good as new. Overall I give them a 5 out of 5! ... show more

  • Inconsistent Button Response
Color: Mystic White
I own these and the prior version, Buds+, and overall I prefer the Buds+. Button Response: My main beef with these is that the touch button area on both of the buds is not very responsive. This means that when I triple tap in Podcasts, it sometimes only picks up two. Double tap, sometimes only gets one. And a single tap annoyingly can be taken as a double. This means that in a podcast when you want to skip backward you might skip forwards, when you want to pause, you might skip. It drives me nuts. When my family talks to me, I try to pause, but skip, so I try to fix the skip by more button presses, before finally trying to pause it. Basically, it's a ridiculous-looking, ear-tapping, sh*t-show for 10 seconds before I finally can say "Sorry, what is it?" This happens A LOT. Also, when I try to skip over commercial breaks, I want to skip forwards maybe 6 times in a row. In theory, that would be a series of 6 double taps. But, what actually happens is skip forward, skip backward, forward, forward, pause, unpause, backward, forward, backward, forward, pause, forward, forward, pause, unpause, forward, success!! Yay. Same thing whether I use the left side or right. The Buds+, of which my family owns 3 pairs, are MUCH better at error-free touch controls. Ear Fit: The Buds Live are very comfortable to wear. This is the main way that they are better than the Buds+, ear comfort. The Buds+ fit tight in the ear canal. This has pros and cons. The + can irritate the ear a bit more than the Buds Live, and you cannot hear outside noises well, say if someone is talking. But that's also good in that, even without Noise Cancellation they block LOTS of outside noise. The Buds+ twist into the ear and lock in very well. The Buds Live fit in a little less tightly, although they seem to stay in. The Buds Live also fit in without blocking the ear canal, so you can hear outside noises pass around them, and this is useful for all-day wear, cuz you can still hear your friends & family, but also lots of outside noise can get past them. So, does the NC work: Noise Cancellation: It's weak. Don't expect much out of it, and you won't be disappointed. I have the Bose QC35, and there is no comparison. These things DO cancel out some of the noise, but when you test them by turning NC on/off you can barely notice the difference. It's OK, but not worth any real money - DON'T buy these for NC, you'll be disappointed. Overall, I get MUCH better noise cancellation from my Buds+ which (passively) block my ear as compared to the Buds Live that don't block but have (active) NC. Fit in Case: The older model was just easier to handle, not drop, and pop easily into their case. These are a little harder, and more fidgety to pop them into the case. Microphones: On phone calls, Zoom calls and such, the mics are good, but nothing great. People say I sound OK, that's about it. They do NOT isolate my voice, and other sounds around me get picked up as much as I do. Bluetooth Connection: These seem to disconnect with my phone, with a chime in my ear, then quickly reconnect with another chime, fairly often. However, it NEVER seems to do it when I'm actively listening to music or a podcast. It only does this when they're in my ears, but I'm not playing any sound to them. So this doesn't bother me. But the Buds+ don't do it as often. Everything Else: Yeah, other than that, it's all good. Good sound, good battery life. My review seems negative, but I actually think they're OK. I paid $160 for them, and they're not worth that much, but at today's prices, maybe. I still think the Buds+ might be a better choice, because I REALLY loved those, and still use them a fair bit. The main benefit of the Buds Live is the all-day comfort, and all-day ability to hear the world around you. ... show more

  • No more ear canal irritation
Color: Mystic White
These buds remind me of the old ipod ear buds or air pod. These don't protrude inside you ear canal and make a suction cup tight feel. These buds sit in your ear, just outside the canal. I have the Buds+ and had Buds Pro, these are much more comfortable to wear. Also, the ANC seems to work well but will see on calls and in Zoom meetings. Happy with these so far. ... show more

Color: Mystic White
They're pretty good. $150 worth? No def not i got them on sale but they're def not worth over $100. They're way more comfortable than the original buds and overall are a good pair the noise canceling is pretty good without music everything is quieter and with music it's fine unless someone is being louder than usual so it could be better i like mine to be completely silencing but if thats what u want i recommend them. Overall really good headphones the sound quality is really good imo. ... show more
