I bought this for my daughter and she was a bit apprehensive about this desk at first but once we assembled it (which took all of ten minutes and was easy) she was very pleased. It's a perfect sized desk for a student or small home office and for the price it can't be beat. It looks very nice and semi modern. My only concern is the top of the desk, especially in the middle, is not as solid and sturdy as I would like but as long as you don't put your weight on it to use as leverage when you get up it is fine. ... show more

I am now working from home and will be permanently, at least through 2020. I needed to get out of my kitchen but I had limited space to do an immediate change to another area with a desk. So I reviewed various "SMALLER" desks to fit an area in my living room for now. I always review the customer reviews prior to purchasing, which can tend to confuse you. I hardly EVER right reviews but after receiving my desk yesterday and having it set up today, I feel inclined to help those that may be in the same boat as I was. First and foremost, DO NOT believe anyone that tells you this is hard to assemble! My husband started it while I went grocery shopping, without reading the directions and it was set up and ready by the time I got home 30 minutes later. Now as far as SIZE, well I sure hope anyone that is considering a purchase would do their homework and MEASURE their area. In my instance I needed exactly the length and width that this desk is. Therefore, if the size is a surprise to you or doesn't meet your standards, you clearly didn't read the specs or measure the area in your home. This desk has NO surprises. I paid $90 for the Faux Birch and I love it!!! And it met the expectations I needed. So please if this desk and it's specifications are what your looking for, BUY IT. If you are looking for a larger desk, please do your homework. If you have trouble putting it together, well I"m not really sure what to say.... LOL ... show more

Edit: adding a star because itโ€™s been 6 months and the unit is still holding up well and i love the way it looks. *original review* I ordered the โ€œice whiteโ€ color , and the pictures are pretty spot-on , color wise. Pros: Easy to assemble Fairly sturdy Cons: -the metal sheeting that goes around the rods were already corroding , and the edges were unfinished on some, causing sharp edges and long sharp splinters (which drew blood when it stabbed and sliced my hand). -The thin backing for the vertical panels are very flimsy and brittle. The long one was broken while pulling it out of the box. -Even with โ€œproperโ€ packaging, there were still dents and dings on the shelves. I wasnโ€™t expecting the finest piece of furniture, but i have owned similar pieces in the past (other brands of โ€œno tools neededโ€ laminated particle board type pieces), and those never had the same problems that this piece has. I contacted amazon about these issues, and they were able to offer a small discount, but even with the discount i feel that this piece is still over priced. From a distance the unit looks nice, but it wont take long for the metal on the rods to corrode even further. Another annoyance (but a manageable one) is how loose some of the vertical panels are. A light nudge of the unit and you can hear it rattle. Normally i wouldn't mention such a small issue, but considering everything else about this piece, i figured i probably should. Specs: The long shelf has just under 4โ€of space (height wise) for storage. So if you have item that is exactly 4 inches tall that you want to put in that long shelf, itโ€™s probably not going to fit. The other shelves are 8โ€ wide between each rod. Middle shelves are slightly under 9โ€ high of usable space. Bottom shelves are at about 13.5โ€ high of usable space. The depth between each rod is approx 12โ€. ... show more

DO NOT BUY. Does not deserve a rating, but a rating is needed to leave a review. Panels were all covered in very small pieces of glass fiber. At first, I thought it was dust, but on closer inspection they are obviously glass fiber.

I ordered this for my best friend's son. It really is an awesome desk. He's 11 years old. My best friend was able to assemble the desk within 30 minutes without any tools. She said it was really easy to set up; she's overwhelmed easily and I thought I'd need to come over to assemble for her and before I knew it she sent a photo of it fully set up. She did forget to install the back part to the desk but she actually liked the look better with out it on. Overall, great desk at a great price that's super easy to assemble.
