    • VERY heavy package. Sturdy shelf but NEEDS to be fixed to wall.
The materials for the shelf are very heavy and the package itself is very heavy - so be careful bringing this one in! It took my husband one afternoon to put it together. Needed a screw driver and a hammer. It feels like a very sturdy shelf, but will easily tip especially if put on carpet - if you have kids this MUST be fixed to the wall. Comes with a screw and strap thing to fix to a dry wall - it actually doesn't require you to find a stud which is great - just secures to the dry wall. Looks pretty and really cleaned up the space we bought it for. The squares are a handy size for a range of folders, documents, boxes and books.     • Looks fantastic. I'm very pleased with the purchase overall.
I wasn't too sure about this bookshelf, but I figured I'd take a chance. It is for my home office/man cave, so if it wasn't perfect, no big deal. Once I put it together and placed it in my office I think it looks great. It's very solid, a good size, and overall I'm quite pleased with the purchase. Assembly takes about 1.5 hours or so, but it's pretty straight forward. I want to commend the people who wrote the directions, as they clearly went out of their way to make it easy to know what piece you should be working with at any given step. Nice job folks-- your quality work made a somewhat tedious task much easier. The one caveat I would share is that when you are nailing on the very back of the shelf, be careful to line it up perfectly before you start tacking it down. If it's not in perfect alignment it makes it more difficult to nail in b/c there's not a lot of leeway. I made that mistake and had to pull some nails out and try again. This bookcase took a while to put together, but it was not difficult. You need a screwdriver and a hammer and some patience. It is very sturdy and comes with a wall mounting kit. It is a beautiful addition to the family room for a reasonable price.

This is one of the nicest cube storage bookcases I've ever had. This bookcase is quite sturdy and heavy. Appearance of this bookcase is excellent! The packaging was very well done, was all the edges of the box were reinforced with thick cardboard. No pieces arrived damaged or dented. This took about 1.5-2 hours to put together with another person. The instruction manual was relatively simple to follow and the diagrams were a huge help. I am taking off one star though because the screws stripped easily. I ended up buying my own screws to replace the 1" screws and the 1-15/16" screws (I used 1-1/2" screws, 1-15/16" screws are kind of a weird, hard to find size). All other screws, they're short enough that it shouldn't be an issue of the screw stripping. But really now, everything else seems to be good quality with this bookcase, but then the screws are cheap and poor quality? Come on, don't check out on screws. The safety strap/tipping strap also doesn't make sense, the wall anchor screw was bizarre. It feels like a child could still tip the bookcase forward and the drywall might rip out of the wall with it (I don't have a child to worry about this though happening though). I am very pleased with this bookcase. It wasn't difficult to put together, but it does take some time. It feels very solid and looks great. It has more character than the average do-it-yourself bookcase, and is a great piece for the price.

This bookcase is everything I wanted. Looks just as pictured. Holds a lot. The one thing I will say is that it is a pain to put together. Get a friend or someone to help you build it. Make sure you have a hammer. The instructions are easy to follow it’s just getting the pieces all together that can get frustrating. I would have probably had an easier time if I’d used a drill. It’s also very heavy. Overall great buy just find a buddy, grab some beers and prepare yourself for a journey harder than that of putting ikea furniture together ... show more

The assembly instructions are good but this is difficult for one person to put together. Highly recommend two. It’s heavy and a bit awkward at some parts in the assembly. But once together it is very beautiful.

Great shelf and putting it together is a fun challenge. A lot of checking and rechecking but a very solid piece of furniture. I have 2 and will probably get more.
