We had to board our little yorkie and needed a stand alone collar (he uses harnesses mostly.) Aside from having to duplicate all of his vaccination records and such this collar made things much easier for us. The collar is sturdy enough to actually be used in conjunction with a leash, and some nice bits afterwards that we noticed was the soft grip lining on the inside of the collar for the pup's comfort and to minimize movement. We also appreciated the wide strap and ability to size down to a small yorkie sized neck. The collar also has reflective elements built in that are not cheap or tacky. One element I wish was improved would be a small type loop or connection option other than the D ring for the vaccination tags. The tags don't need much to attach to, but the D ring where the leash goes isn't the appropriate location in my mind. A minor inconvenience in the scheme of things. Overall - very satisfied with this purchase as opposed to going to a local PetSmart or similar because this is a better product than you'd find there. ... show more

This is a great collar for the price. I bought it as a "filler" because I adopted an 18 month old Great Dane. I will buy him a good leather collar when he is done growing and just needed something until then but wow I was impressed. For the price you cannot go wrong with these. My baby lab is currently growing through collars every 1-1.5 months. This collar is well made & wide enough I’m not choking him on leash. It comes in a wide variety of colors, is relatively inexpensive, adjustable and has a plastic clip (nice here in Florida where metal clips can actually cause a burn). BONUS the collar has 2 rows of white stitching you can see at night so when he plays the hide from mom game every morning at 4 am in the back yard, I can easily find him. My Australian Shepherd mix is long and lean, small head, lots of hair. Very active dog. Previously bought small collars that she would slip over her head unless they were tightened down. Then first time she pulled on leash, they would loosen and away she goes. Had to Super Glue collar adjust to proper size. But she grew and could not adjust glued collar. I've tried several collars on my short haired dogs. One is a chihuahua and the other is a chihuahua and min pin mix. He has no fur on his front neck. So the collar has to be soft or he's constantly scratching. Both dogs seem happy with their collars. They do reflect light and clip on cleanly.
