This is a wonderful a self sufficient device to group with my additional smart Alexa devices. The good: 1.) Easy peasy setup & syncing 2.) Works as it's own unit, so it's not just a speaker, she can fill you in on your calendar, make calls, answer questions, turn on other smart devices, and you can add a night light to it, which is awesome. 3.) Really suitable for out "range" areas like your bathroom or kitchen, hallway, etc. The bad? I honestly don't have anything down to say. I'm really impressed with the Echoflex, plus it came with an added smart light bulb which works wirelessly, so that was a nice perk. I noticed that some had complained in reviews about the speaker quality. But I really don't know what you're expecting in regards to speaker on a device of this nature. I think it works perfectly for what it's intended to be. I got this on a bundled deal. The echo flex bundled with the nightlight for $9.99. And it was a great deal. Great combo. The sound on the speaker is not very loud but loud enough if used in a small room but you can hook it to a louder spreadsheet via Bluetooth. I keep one on the bathroom with a nightlight attached to it. I play my music when doing my business and it's loud enough considering my bathroom is not that big. You can manually turn off the mic if needed. It plugs right into my socket without any wires dangling. The nightlight comes on when darkness is detected and goes off when it's bright. Great for a midnight bathroom run. If you choose not to use any accessories, the USB port on the bottom can be used as a phone charger. Alexa works like a charm on this. I got this in a special deal where if you bought this, you get a free smart light bulb. Since we already have an Echo dot in the living room along with 2 smart plugs and 2 Fire Sticks, I felt this would be good to use in our bedroom, especially at the price point I got it for. Admittedly, the speaker is only good for voice responses, hence the 4 stars on sound quality but I had a Bluetooth speaker that I wasn't using for anything (previous gift received) so I paired it to the Echo Flex and now the sound is much much better. I have the Flex plugged in to an outlet about 4 feet away from the speaker that's sitting on my night stand. Also, with it by my bed on the night stand, I can plug some headphones to the Bluetooth speaker and listen to music in bed without disturbing my wife. You can also hook a speaker up to it or plug in headphones into the jack on the side plus it has a USB plug for phone charging or other 3rd party add-ons. Would I recommend this? Yes, but do not expect great sound from its tiny speaker. It's great paired or wired to an external speaker though. ... show more

I got these to put in my mother's house as she has fallen several times and hasn't been able to get to her phone. These give her the ability to call me or anyone else in her contact list so she can get help if she needs it. I feel much better knowing she can call me from anywhere in her house. I have really liked this small Echo. It's great for the places in my house where I don't want a loud speaker or have oddly placed plugs. This one is in my bedroom and the clock gives off just enough light to tell the time, but not so much that it's blinding through the night. It's great at night for turning off the lights and TV as it's not as loud as the other Alexa devices we have (and are always forgetting to adjust the volume on after jamming to music. Yes, I said jamming. Yes, I'm clearly old). We have some random plugs through the house that are located in the middle of walls instead of near the floor, so this is nice instead of having a cord running all over creation. I'd recommend these in small rooms or rooms you don't want a loud speaker in. And I really like the clock addition. I hope to see this on more Alexa devices (asking her the time is just too difficult for my old and feeble voice). ... show more

    • Great Flexibility in application with the smart additions. Real value for money.
Loved the form factor and the ease of adding various functionality to it by third party made for Flex devices. Would have loved for it to have two USB ports to be able to add a motion sensor and a clock for example. Paired with a good Bluetooth speaker, it eliminates the limitation of a rather thin sound from its built in speaker and the pairing is solid. The plug in to the power socket design eliminates dangling wires and makes it a neat set up. All in all ... one more device that offers a great option for those needing the functionality without the bells and whistles of other devices. Works really well with the motion sensor attachment. Miss the volume buttons though. Integration software has room for improvement.     • Very Nice for Alexa in my bathroom.
The speaker is weak. So, don't expect much for music. We hear Alexa's voice responses just fine in our bathroom. I use a blutooth speaker to play music from this Echo Flex. My review includes the Smart Motion Sensor kit. I set up routines so when anyone walks into the bathroom, the lights turn on, Alexa says the time, etc. This is neat as after there is no motion detected, the lights turn off in 5 minutes according to the routine I setup. The sensor sensitivity is fine...as soon as anyone enters the bathroom (it is plugged into the socket by the light switch) it activates (even for the little dog) ... show more

Motion sensors work great ONLY if connected directly to the ECHO FLEX. I tried using a USB extension cable, shortest 3ft, it would work for a few days, then you would have to disconnect the ECHO FLEX from the wall to get it going again. Just know that limitation and you'll love this thing. I've asked for a feature request, the ability to control the sensitivity of the motion sensor.
