  • Seems well built
Style: 11,500-Watt Dual Fuel Pattern Name: Generator
I got the dual fuel 11500 watt version. It seems very well built, runs great, sounds strong. I did the break in procedure and now it's just sitting there until I need it. It's nice it has the 50amp, 30amp, and 20amp plugs on it. I haven't tried propane yet, but it's nice to have an option. The built in hour meter is a cool feature. ... show more

  • Solid performance, easy to get going, little bit loud
Style: 11,500-Watt Dual Fuel Pattern Name: Generator
Straight out of the box it worked just fine after following the easy setup instructions. Bought for powering the house if power goes out. Haven’t had to use it for that yet but got an EV and it runs the l2 charger just fine at 35A for hours on end. We don’t get a 14-50 on the house for a few more days. so using this in a pinch has worked out great. It’s a little loud and basically a constant RPM but gets the job done great. ... show more

  • Had to use it unexpectedly and was impresed!
Style: 11,500-Watt Dual Fuel Pattern Name: Generator
We bought this for hurricane season. We installed an outdoor 50 amp transfer switch and just planned on waiting until the season started. Three days after the install, the power went out. Turns out Duke Energy had equipment failure that wiped out the area for almost 7 hours. Beginning of June, no AC...oh boy! Well, we made the transfer, shut all excessive breakers off except the whole house AC and amazingly, the entire house AC worked like a charm! We ran one additional 30 mp line to handle the fridge, freezer nd a couple of items while the other thirty amp handle a high efficiency hot water tank. We never missed a beat! The unit ran flawless. Make sure everything is properly followed in the directions. Oil, gas, proper grounding of the unit (we installed it's own 8 ft. grounding rod with copper wire), sequence of starting up everything etc... A fantastic product as we write this! ... show more

  • Good.. but..
Style: 11,500-Watt Dual Fuel Pattern Name: Generator
Worked fine.. started right up and ran great with propane during the last storm.. One omission that I miss... NO IDLE CONTROL! I had it on my last gas only gen. Not on this one.. so runs full bore all the time... should be mandatory on these models. Contacted support (Duramax to see if it could be added.. no response yet - 2 weeks) ... show more

  • Great Generator For Price
Style: 11,500-Watt Dual Fuel Pattern Name: Generator
This is an upate to my last post. I received the generator on 7-27 late afternoon. My son and I put it together and called it a day. Easy assembly, unpacking, no damage to exterior packaging which I was surprised since it sat in a warehouse for 5 days 60 miles from me. The delivery driver was extremely nice. I got up this am and said I'll finish, put oil in 10W-30, may go to synthetic 1st oil change. Hooked it up to my camper propane per instructions, hit the start switch and BAM, started right up. Let it run about 15 minutes, hooked up shore power, turn breaker on and didn't even chug with a/c on high. Fairly easy to move around, I did it and I'm a 70 yo. Extremely happy with product and would recommend so far. I paid $969 ten days ago and now it's $1299. Great buy. Also included, propane hose, wheels, handles, battery, tool kit and funnel. Now to get transfer switch and solar installed, WAITING on city permits and hope it's done before next hurricane. ... show more

  • Incorrect product description / Item not returnable
Style: 11,500-Watt Dual Fuel Pattern Name: Generator
• The write up claims: “Plenty of Power – With 11,500 starting watts and 9,000 running watts, this unit can handle heavy loads, from lights and a refrigerator to a home air conditioner and high amperage power tools” while the specs show a rating of only 5250 watts … it cannot be both. After requesting a cancellation, the company held the item for four days so they could claim it was already shipped... when I requested a return I was informed that the item was not returnable. As a final insult, they overcharged me $40.00 over the stated price. ... show more

  • For those who think this should have idle control...
Style: 11,500-Watt Dual Fuel Pattern Name: Generator
Idle control only works for inverter generators. This is a simple, old school synchronous generator which means it must run at full speed to generate the proper voltage and frequency. Idle control is not possible on a synchronous generator; however it has the advantages of lower price and greater simplicity which adds reliability. DuroMax will gladly sell you their XP9000iH if you feel you absolutely must have idle control. It is an inverter generator that is a bit less output power than this synchronous generator. Of course, as should be expected of an inverter generator, it is more than double the price. ... show more

  • Good generator for whole house
Style: 11,500-Watt Dual Fuel Pattern Name: Generator
The media could not be loaded. My house is not big 1500 sq feet. So I’m able to power my whole house. At it current price point there is better options. I got this generator for 799. Now it’s 1200 not a good deal. Also get a 50 Amp inlet for it to run your whole house.
