  • Save your money. Quality is bad, customer service is worse
Color: Black
The quality is poor. The paint job looks scratched and was chipped in places, most screws are hidden but 4 aren't and when tightened clearly show wood and stand out against black paint and don't have caps to cover. The hardest part to assemble was the hinge mechanism but not terribly difficult with a partner. The pre drilled holes were not to a consistent depth which made screws tighten to different depths. Overall, I would pass on this table. I saw a similar table, albeit for more, on another website that I believe is better quality. You just have to look Update: customer service is incompetent and keep telling me to return the ASSEMBLED table and they will refund me. I told them I am not taking it apart to send me a replacement top which is the last piece installed. They said they couldn't and lied about being able to give a partial refund. I would NEVER do repeat business with them and you shouldn't either. ... show more

  • Better than I expected.
Color: Black
I just finished putting this table together. It looks like an IKEA Lack coffee table on steroids, bit it is far sturdier and heavier. The hinges are spring-loaded rather than pneumatic, which means the top doesn't always lift evenly, and there aren’t any stopping points between fully open and fully closed. For that reason, it's probably inadvisable to raise and lower it with anything fragile or spillable on top, and I absolutely would not recommend it for anyone with small children. An acquaintance lost his toddler son to a freak accident involving a similarly designed piece of furniture, and I would not wish the trauma of that experience on my worst enemy. But for normal adult use, it is absolutely fine. Most of the negative reviews I read before buying this involve complaints about the assembly process, issues with the hinges, or dog whistles about the country of origin. The instructions make IKEA manuals look like quantum physics. Everything is clearly labeled with a letter or number that is referemced in the manual, and the only tool you need is a Phillips screwdriver. If you know your letters, your numbers, and "righty tighty lefty loosey," you've probably got this. The only steps I found difficult at all were putting the springs on the hinges and attaching the top to the table body. If I had another person to help me, I would have attached the hinges to the body, then the top, and saved the spring installation (which I did by pulling the full spring with my dominant hand while holding one end in place with the other hand) for last. But I installed it on my own by propping the tabletop on a height-adjustable TV table and raising it until the screw holes aligned. Maybe I had better luck with the hinges than some people, or maybe others did something wrong in installing them. But I'm 5'1" and not terribly strong, and I can raise and lower the tabletop with one hand (albeit unevenly). As for the people who expected bespoke carpentry from RTA furniture at a beer-budget price point or blamed the manufacturer for their failure to read the measurements...that's on them. This table is a couple inches lower than most models out there, but I chose it for precisely that reason, as my couch is pretty low. ... show more

  • As easy to assemble as legos.
Color: Black
My first concern when buying furniture is: Can I assemble it painlessly? This was a easy as playing with legos. The instructions are VERY CLEAR. Every single component has an (easily removable) sticker so that you know exactly what the instructions are referencing. There was zero elbow grease involved; everything slid neatly together, thanks to accurate pre-drilled holes. The one tip I'd pass along is that you can't be sloppy. Make sure you align your edges neatly before tightening your screws, otherwise the base won't slide in. The finished product is GORGEOUS and sturdy. It looks like a far more expensive piece of furniture than it really is. The tabletop slides down VERY smoothly thanks to the spring tension. I literally lowered the top with my laptop and a full cup of coffee on it today without even thinking about it. One tip here as well, though: make sure you grab both sides of the table and apply even pressure when you lower it, or you'll push down one hinge but not the other. That's common sense, though, and not a design flaw. Would give this 6 stars if I could. ... show more

  • Pay attention!
Color: Black
I got this for those times when it’s great to eat in front of the TV. It’s great for kids (or adults) who get so engrossed they spill everywhere. It’s so useful it’s now a primary homework location. But, instructions are poorly written. Take time to look at the diagrams! Those show what the words miss, and can keep you from assembling a piece backwards! I did it myself but better with 2 people when it’s time to mount the movable top. Personal peeve: safety stickers on front and back are an eyesore and tough to remove. ... show more

  • The inside space is decent, packaged well. Small, and opens too fast good price
Color: Black
First things first, I love the table. It came in perfect condition. Packaged well. On time. I didnt assemble it but my brother in law seem to do it with ease with in 20-30 mins. It does seem to be made on the cheaper side when it comes to the actual "wood" it's more plywood type. it is slightly smaller then I anticipated, but It will work. The hinges are made so it opens abruptly, the first time I opened it, it flew open and tipped over, My candle holder broke the I have wood floors... hopefully eventually it gets smoother. But if not I'll continue to move everything each time. Either way I recommend this table. For the price, it is worth it. ... show more

  • Keeps my Remotes Safe!
Color: Black
I put this together on my own, the only help I got was with the actual tabletop part, someone had to hold it for me while I screwed it in. I love this table. I will say, it scratches up really easy. Nothing that can't be fixed, all surface level. But it keeps my cats from smacking around my remote and my PS4 controller. My floor is solid concrete, so it will slid unless I use my feet to hold it still while I open and close it because the springs are very resistant. They need to be broken in, it's been a few months now and they are still breaking in aha. ... show more
