The WEN 3,800 Watt Inverter Generator produces clean energy free of voltage spikes and drops without making all of the noise of a regular generator. Generate up to 3800 surge watts and 3400 rated watts of power. Our 212cc 4-stroke air-cooled OHV engine operates at an extremely quiet 57 decibels at quarter load, about as quiet as a window air conditioner or the average conversation. This limits its invasiveness while hunting, camping, tailgating and restoring back-up power. The WEN 3800W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. This feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing the generator to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside of the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe enough to run laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other vulnerable electronics. The lightweight design along with the built-in wheels and folding handle make for easy portability while the ultra-efficient 2.2-gallon tank provides over 8.5 hours of half-load run time. Our fully- packed panel comes equipped with two 3-prong 120V standard household receptacles, one AC 120V 30A NEMA TT-30R receptacle, one 12V DC receptacle, two 5V USB ports and an easy-to-read digital fuel and load display. Maximize fuel economy by engaging the Eco-Mode switch. In Econ mode (which you use constantly except for starting, shutoff, and >1600w activities): Noise: a little louder than an air conditioner. Slightly louder than an idling car. Nobody complains. Duration idling <500w: nearly sixteen hours. >Running a single (standard 600w window) A/C unit on high: ~10 hours >Running a 1000w electric heater: ~8 hours >Running a 1500w electric heater: <6 hours Over a year later, she's still kicking just fine. It's been a year, but over 10,000 operating hours. We work her hard. It's actually easier starting her now than it was before winter. (Of course, I did the long-term storage procedure). The auto shutoff and push-button start have made using her a breeze. Kinda wish I still had a ripcord backup - I had to use vehicle jumper packs a few times last year, due to loose battery connection issues. Maybe it would be better if the thick rubber battery band was still intact, but I found it impossible to work with. It made the battery effectively inaccessible. I considered the four stars rating because it does have some issues. The battery connections shake and loosen, which can cause difficulty starting, recharging issues, and possibly damage the battery. The ripcord broke with a single bad pull (I pulled at the wrong angle, since it was my first time using it). Dirty oil will give you great difficulty in starting. The spark collector can't be removed for cleaning, the screws strip. The beaded chains on the gas cap and oil drain are flimsy and will definitely break. It's not light. I've gotten stronger from lifting it so often, and my honey refuses to lift it at all. Overall: it's pretty great quality despite the low price. It's been very reliable (some exceptions) and done its job well. Noise review: It's often a huge concern with generators, and this is competitively quiet with anything on the market (I've been to enough festivals, I've seen them all). Actually, quieter than most harbor freight inverter gens. Pop out your favorite little bluetooth speaker and you won't hardly notice it. Walking through parking lots, many times I've failed to notice its sound until I could see it. If you listen carefully, you can notice... but you won't. Better white noise than traffic sounds, but rather intrusive noise in quiet spaces, like suburbs and farms. Will I purchase it again when this one dies? Maybe. Will I buy this brand? Yes, almost certainly. I'm considering a pair of linked "suitcase generators" for redundancy and the ability to run power in two places. The total runtime is the concern here. No one wants to wake up halfway through the sweltering night to fill gas and get the A/C running again... but with our new batteries, that might not be a concern. ... show more

    • This is a great generator for the money, and quiet!
Style: 3800W + Electric Start
I did a lot of research before deciding on this generator. There are others that are cheaper, and definitely lighter that this one. But in my opinion there is a reason why this one stands above the others out there. For one the run time on a single fill up. It can run for up to 12 hours on a single tank if gas when in eco mode. The others had run times ranging anywhere from 4 hours on a tank to 8-9 hours. I don't want to be filling a gas tank in 3:00 in the morning while I'm running my AC in my camper. I was very surprised and how quiet this generator is. Even when running my AC I could stand right by it and carry on a conversation. It is heavy compared to some of the others, but to me that just means it's built well. The electric start is also a great plus. The built in handle makes it easy to move despite its weight. It is also easy to fill and change the oil. Some of the other units are very hard to service, not this one! I ran my AC, fridge, microwave and coffee pot in my camper and this baby barely kicked up at all. Do your research, and compare. We have a 42 foot 5th wheel and we almost always dry camp. I have solar and batteries but often we are camping in the forest in heavy shade so I wanted a generator just in case we needed it. Honestly this is an amazing generator. Super quiet. This was really important as we are often camping in more remote campgrounds and I did not want to have a loud generator ruining the experience for the neighbors around us. I have found that you cannot hear it from the next campground over. I built a quiet box for the generator but honestly I do not think you need it and I have never brought it camping. It is a very compact size just like the other inverter generators and is very easy to move around. It starts super easy and has run everything we have needed so far. Honestly the Honda generators this size are about 2K so this is an amazing deal even if it last half as long. I previously owned a Ryobi smaller inverter generator and it was terrible. The electric start is amazing and it starts right away. I highly recommend this generator for anyone who wants a larger quite generator. I have owned it for about 6 months and will update if I start having any problems with it. ... show more
