    • Samsung warranty is a scam!

I've always had a Samsung phone, with no problems. I bought a Flip 3 5G 11 months ago. It was in a case from the moment I received it. A week ago I decided to pit a new screen protector on the LCDs. When I removed the original protector any cleaned the screen to apply the new protector I noticed a sticky spot on the lower half of the inside screen. I ribbed it, trying to clean off whatever it was. When I rubbed it a black spot appeared and a horizontal white line and a vertical pink line showed up, going from that spot to the edge of the screen. I spoke with Samsung CS and they assured me not to worry, it would be covered by warranty. They sent me ticket # and a UPS label. Today I received an email from them saying it wasn't covered at all and they wanted $243.48 to fix it. I called and after quite a bit of runaround I finally talked to the supervisor of the technician that looked at my phone and as she described it the problem with the screen would have been covered but they could see microscopic scratches on the hinge and a small, barely visible scratch on the back glass. She said if the phone wasn't in the same exact condition it was in when it came off the production line the warranty voided. I honestly tried to reason with her that I had used the phone for 11 months and of course there would be signs of wear. She said she understood but there was nothing she could do. I asked her if her department ever honored a warranty it a phone had been actually used. She would not answer. They are shipping my phone back, unrepaired. I'll spend the money locally to get it fixed if it's worth it. Better that just feeding Samsung even more money on a scam... Samsung has awsome products, true... Their warranty is just an outright scam that they should be embarrassed of. ... show more

It fits in my front pockets! Haven't had a phone that fit in front pockets since my little Nokia flip phone in middle school. In my back pocket I barely notice it's there, I'm not worried about it falling out when I sit down. When folded in half it's thicker than the usual phone of course, but honestly not as thick as I expected. I like the fingerprint reader. It's discrete so someone unfamiliar with the model wouldn't think to try there. Reads much faster than other Samsung models I've tried. The facial recognition seems to work better too. Love that I can skip songs and read notifications on the front screen without opening the phone. ... show more

Very happy with this phone. The screen is fairly large, but folds down to about the size of a billfold wallet. Without, it's pretty thin, but the back is a bit slick, so I recommend a case. Facial recognition is spotty, but fingerprint sensor is spot-on. Battery life is good (I can get a full day easily if I don't mess with power draining games). I love Samsung keyboard's drag typing function. If you don't mind dropping some loot and want something a little different this is an excellent choice. I'm highly satisfied. ... show more

The screen protector lamination began to fail at the fold seem after 9 months. At exactly the same time a crack began to propagate on the left side of the lower LCD display. A quick Google search indicates that this is a common problem. I explained the problems to Samsung service and initially advised me that it would be under warranty. After they received my phone they emailed me to say that the repair would not be under warranty because of the crack, another Google search advises that this is their standard answer to avoid honoring their warranty, and advised that it would cost me $242.48. I told them that I did not wish to pay them to repair their shoddy workmanship and materials and had them send the phone back without repair. When I got the phone back it was in worse shape than when I sent it. They caused additional damage to the screen protector in areas that were previously undamaged. I am not much impressed with a company that profits off of their faulty products and therefor cannot recommend the Flip line of Samsung phones. What a shame though, I really liked the form factor as it tucks away quite nice in my front shirt pockets and stays there even when I bend down. ... show more

I like almost everything about this phone, but unfortunately the screen started to malfunction about a year into use. It is finicky and won't always turn on when I open the phone or press the button. It hasn't completely quit on me yet, but I have missed phone calls and photo opportunities because of it. It seems to be a common enough issue. I love the flip feature, but unless future models have eliminated this problem, I probably won't buy a flip smartphone again. ... show more

I am happy for selecting the Samsung Z flip. It was a good choice for me, I was concerned about short battery life but having a wireless charger at hand works great. I have phone set for 85% charge shut off, which gives me comfort about how much it would be on charger. Phone is very fast one reading was over 600 mps , I have traveled with it and I have no complaints. Only sad part is why would they sell a battery phone with no charger only the cable comes. ... show more
